    I didn’t purchase it on , but I wanted to know about the interactive features (or lack thereof) before making the purchase, so I left a comment so that others wouldn’t be as surprised as I was after setting up the entire system. The equipment is very good, easy to set up, and the quality seems to be very good. I have no problem with this. However, the main issue is that for DIY alarms, they lack any DIY functionality unless you register for a monthly subscription to unlock the “interactive” section and monitor. I didn’t know that, nor did I expect it to be like this. Simplisafe does offer two different subscription plans, but only more expensive subscription plans can unlock the standard APP interaction features in other DIY systems I have used. Unless you unlock interactive features through monthly subscriptions, you cannot do anything from the mobile application. You cannot deploy or disarm the system, check its status, view historical logs, and you will not receive any notifications, so if it goes off, you are powerless unless you are at home. I really look forward to this being my new system, but without any application functionality or control over the system, I feel like it cannot be compared to other DIY systems on the market. If they unlock interactive application features as standard features without subscribing, then I will update to 5 stars.

    I bought a refurbished B/C at a very low price. At first, I couldn’t initialize the keyboard. Troubleshooting requires a power supply, it is not a 110Ac to 5V DC block, but a custom wire with a fancy connector end. Call Ring customer service and say I only need this wire – it should be easy. Okay, the power cord is out of stock. Therefore, they seem to know that the problem lies in the power cord. Is WTH the non working wire in the refurbishment kit? Lazy QA/QC. It can be charged with a standard power cord, so I can still survive. You get what you pay for. Same as the refurbished sensor. One is a dead battery. Shocking.

I particularly enjoy being able to tell Alexa “Alexa, I’m leaving” and ask her to turn off the lights, give me a weather forecast, and then activate the alarm system to leave the hotel, all of which can be done by talking to Alexa. The security system can also be connected to the FirstAlert smoke/carbon monoxide Z-wave detector, and if they are triggered, they will automatically call the fire department and EMT. But after installing the camera; I found that the Apple Airport Wireless router cannot calculate the camera (even when using 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks). Contact them the day after installation to set up the product. SImplisafe stated that they will send a new camera (customer support believes this is a hardware issue), even if both cameras cannot connect to WiFi, as I mentioned on the phone. The Simplisafe representative stated that if the camera does not function properly, they will provide a full refund within 60 days of purchase< After fast forwarding for a month, try contacting SimpliSafe technical support to initiate a refund. Wait for 1 hour. The representative stated that they will not be able to redeem the refund (as per policy, a full refund will be issued within 60 days after purchase). Conclusion – The terrible security system has poorer customer support. Do not purchase the system unless it is confirmed to be working properly. Alternatively, do not purchase the system through and purchase directly from the company, so they have no reason not to redeem the refund.     I have a very old Honeywell Vista Ademco 20P/20PSIA, 15P/15PSIA, which is at least 26 years old. There is no problem connecting this. I ensure to label all wires and take photos of the old connections. I tested each device in the order shown in the teaching video. As others have said, you must designate the old motion detector as a window or door. You can still name them so you don’t want to know what they are. Make sure to assign them a setting for opening delay (gate). If they will catch you when you enter, you can use this setting to turn on the keyboard and turn off the AWAY mode alarm. You will lose your original alarm. Unable to connect to backup battery. There are enough installation methods available. I bought a refurbished one like new, it looks like new and has a great effect.

The camera is very poor – I have Nest and Canary, both of which are several light-years ahead of SimpliSafe. Moreover, the camera has no equipment installed at all! It can only be placed on the shelf, that’s all. Overall, the system is far below expectations. The application is also lackluster. Customer service is enjoyable, but obviously there are no necessary tools to help customers.

    Since 2015, I have been a long-term user of Simplisafe and I really enjoy the concept of not paying $100-200 to install an alarm system. All wireless sensors and main systems of the system have built-in cellular signals. The absence of a telephone line is another major advantage. I really like Simplisafe< It is now 2023, as I moved to a new place and agreed to leave Simplisafe, I purchased Ring's security system< It has everything Simplisafe has and is also connected to Alexa and unsubscribed applications. Even subscriptions are the cheapest in the market, but I will try not to have them. Certified refurbishment is new as it can be obtained without any signs of use. I suggest renovating to save more.

    I purchased the original Simply Safe system in 2015. Although installation is quite easy, there is almost no customer/technical support available for minor malfunctions encountered. You must leave a “call back” message, and if there is one, they will call you back within a few days. If you want to leave on the weekend and cannot set an alarm, it’s not very helpful< The system will indicate that the sensor is not set, but will not tell you which sensor. You need to sign a contract with "Central Monitoring" company for a monthly price of $10-20 to obtain this information. Alternatively, you can call SimpliSafe and inquire with the representative after you have finally contacted them. They can tell you which sensor it is. Therefore, there is no need to call the representative and one must walk around the house to check each sensor. I have sixteen (16) sensors to check. A time-consuming activity< During 2016 and 2017, existing customers requested the integration of security cameras into their systems. SimpliSafe promised in their email for many months that it is currently under development and will soon have a camera. More than a year later, it did have cameras, but they could only be used with their brand new system, which had just been released and was "backward compatible" with the old system. Therefore, customers who spent hundreds of dollars on their systems during the past two to three years of SimpliSafe's existence now have a seemingly outdated system. The clients who support an emerging company and make it successful are now irrelevant< As an independent system, it is great and much cheaper than ADT. However, if you need support, good luck. I haven't called technical support for several years because once my system is set up, it runs well and I gave up getting support in a timely manner, so I don't know how the support is today. But based on the fact that SimpliSafe has abandoned its customers, I say buyers need to be careful.

    I don’t like the idea of paying ADT or similar $50 per month because this setting is inflexible and forces me to add Google Nest cameras when I already have something on the Ring. When the installer quoted $47 for each door sensor (including “installation”, which basically involves removing a piece of paper to expose the sticky end and placing it on the door frame and door), I decided to give it a chance. The effect is very good. I only need to pay a small portion of the price for ADT, and I have a flexible system that I can troubleshoot on my own, with multiple keyboards (I think these are $20 each – I have never asked ADT how much they charge for each keyboard). The alarm sounded once because we left the door half open and the wind blew in. The police responded well (more likely to be a response from the local sheriff, but it was as effective as advertised). I particularly enjoy turning any ringtone device into an additional alarm. Overall, I am very happy.

But one issue I am running is that if your Wi Fi is short and an alarm rings, you will not receive it, and you will not be able to control anything through the application, only through the keyboard< If Wi Fi has been restored, you may encounter some problems (sometimes), and accessories (door sensors, motion sensors, extenders, and keyboards) may be disconnected. Please carefully check if the connection is disconnected through the application, as you will not know if the alarm is sounding through the application. If Wi Fi is turned off, it will still sound an alarm normally. Don't panic, you can still turn it off through the keyboard. If there is a power outage, the base will install batteries< So far, I like this product because it's affordable and can protect your house!

In summary, this is a cost-effective system, but it is very expensive to use for a long time. The monitoring service costs $200 per year (approximately the standard price), or you can pay only $40 per year for video recording fees. If you don’t want to monitor and only want to be able to record, then you must pay $40 per year. There is no option to save the video on your own in the cloud or device storage. That’s why I have a low evaluation of the system. There are many other options, such as Arlo, that allow you to monitor and save videos to your device or cloud storage at no additional cost. If the storage limit is only one week or one month, and you need to download or lose recordings, that would be one thing. But if all these functions are not provided, the circular camera will essentially become an expensive electronic peephole, and the security system is too expensive for the basic functions it provides.

In the first week alone, the system was full of problems: I had one false alarm every day, and in the second week, the police no longer came to my house because they knew it was fake. All the content I have read now says that Apple and SimpliSafe are basically unable to reach an agreement, and there are no future integration plans (confirmed by technical support). This will be a deal breaker because I will never use a system that is not suitable for Apple< Return to installation, don't expect it to take a few hours to install. Plan for the whole day. The lock is not as intuitive as during installation, and there is no adapter that fully meets the requirements of our new building townhouse as stated in the manual.
