    I purchased this in June 2023. I used to have a second-generation ring-shaped doorbell and hope to upgrade to their most modern ring-shaped doorbell. I have read the review and decided to purchase it. The first two months were very good without any problems. The situation is different in the third month and after. Granular video. I contacted the ring about these problems and was told that my Internet is unstable, which is where the problem lies. As a retired electrician, I know some things about connections and know that I didn’t get off the car on WiFi. So they basically told me that this is my Internet, not my company. Therefore, not only will they receive one star, but I will also provide them with zero star customer support. Everything seems to be garbage these days.     What a joke! We paid $250 from Best Buy and immediately discovered that the doorbell can only ring once every 60 seconds. This is the legendary incompetence To be honest, the absolute main function of the doorbell is to ring the damn doorbell, which is not as efficient as Wal Mart’s $5 product. We even spent $60 more on the Chime Pro, but it had no effect in solving the problem< Here, I think the main problem with doing this is that it's cheaper than cheap screws, which are easy to peel off and are quite comical. Wow, I'm glad I discovered this in the first week – it's all about a $250 doorbell (laughs), a $60 night light pretending to sound a bell, two $100 top mounted cameras, a $280 floodlight, and Costco's sticker cam bag< All of this tells us that doorbell devices worth over $800 can only be pressed once. Most importantly, they pester you with endless advertisements and semi functional applications until you spend over $100 a year, so you can see videos from your camera< 100% joke!!

    Recently (6 months ago), my father passed away. Our credit card account charges fees every year. Firstly, we attempted to log in to the account, but it requires a verification process, which involves accessing email and then accessing the phone. Now, we can access the email (which is shared between my mother and father), but the phone has been cancelled. Therefore, we are unable to use the application to unsubscribe. So, we made a phone call. Explained the situation. I spent half an hour trying to access the account. Then report to the on duty manager. He said he has the ability to provide assistance. But in reality, he had to consult others. They want documents to prove that my mother was allowed to cancel her account. We have sent them copies of death certificates and credit card statements, which show that my father and mother are both in a common credit account. This proves that my mother is actually paying the bill. It took us another hour to reach this point< However.. No, guys, that's not enough proof! They also need proof of testament execution. All of this is just to make us stop paying them. Okay, after 2 hours, we finally hung up the phone and contacted the credit card company, raising objections to the $40 fee (waiting for it). $40 for 2 hours. Yes, this is a smart person.     Update: After leaving my original comment, Ring contacted me. They told me that they believe they can solve my problem by adding an extender. They offered to give me one for free, but they would like to provide all my personal information via email before shipping. I declined. They have linked all my information to my ring account. If they wanted to solve the problem and believed it could be solved, they could have shipped it. My ring-shaped doorbell went offline for no reason today. Twice. Similarly, there are no other devices at home with this issue. I have used up all this garbage. I am going to the store to buy a Google Nest doorbell now. I hope it can perform better than this unreliable product< Original comment: Good video quality. Motion detection is customizable and the results are very good. The problem is that it goes offline randomly and too frequently. Ring may say that I did something wrong. I'm not. It is hard wired. There is no power issue. It is 20 feet away from my modem and router, both of which are on the line. My Internet service is very fast. There are no other devices at home that have any issues connecting and maintaining WiFi connection. In rare cases of power outages, all of my other devices can be reconnected, but Ring cannot do so< A quick Google search shows that these are common issues. Ring needs to figure out why this situation keeps happening and fix it. I'm tired of missing important videos because I just decided to take a break.     I bought a second ring for another family. The application verification process has been unable to proceed. I request 5 verification codes. I received a notification from Ring in the email that it will not send a verification code and I must go to the control center through the menu. I received an email requesting me to go to the menu> Control Center. But there is no menu or control center in the upper left corner of the opening page of the Ring APP. I installed it.     This comes from the owner of the first generation professional doorbell. My first one died because I applied sealant around the base when installing it. Last summer, the temperature killed it after 6 years. I read that it is not recommended to use sealant for cooling purposes< I have installed a new one and it is not a problem. After removing the sealant around the old bracket, I am able to use the same mounting holes. The picture is clearer and the field of view is wider. They now include angle installation kits in the packaging box, so this is a bonus. They no longer include colored panels, but if you are willing, you can still order them. I insist on using silver that is ready to use out of the box. The recording works the same way.

I am an electrical engineer and I was surprised when they told me that this is how these devices should work< I have two circular professional doorbells. A perfect job. Easily connect to WiFi during the setup process. After power outage and resetting the router, reconnect to WiFi. The other did not work without any hesitation. Never reconnect after power outage or when resetting the router. I switched positions, upgraded the doorbell transformer, and expanded my wireless network. Both doorbell positions have approximately 500 mbs of connection. I have contacted the Ring service desk and was informed that this is how the device should work. If that's the case, I would never buy these. The work doorbell operates well in both positions. The unconnected one does not work in either position. I found it completely unacceptable for them to try to sell me, that's how they should work. Garbage. These are all below my expectations, and I will never recommend Ring to anyone. My mission is to dissuade others in the technology industry from moving in another direction. Although this is just a small impact, every point is a victory for me. Disappointing. Angry.     Our first Ring Doorbell of any model likes the device and application boot prompts during the installation process. The older house and transformer, but the voltage of the external line tested on my voltmeter is 16.7, so I hope it can be connected and “working properly”.     These things are terrible and a great pain. There’s not a big problem installing it, we have an old mechanical doorbell that has enough power. But once we install and set it up, the doorbell will continuously unpair on the application. Talking to customer support, we added a WiFi extender that seems to be doing better. Next, it starts entering setting mode every month, and finally, when there is no one around, it starts randomly ringing the doorbell. It rings three times an hour, so we ultimately disconnected it. Not a few months later, I cannot return this very expensive dud because they only offer a 30 day return. The replacement has a one-year extended warranty, but you will have a 30 minute phone call with customer service to convince them that it is broken, not just an installation error. I don’t have enough time in my life to deal with the broken doorbell every month< I have updated my original one star review as they are currently under a one-year warranty. I am unable to receive a refund, but they will send me a new one. I added a star for this, and another star because customer service personally contacted me for help. I have completed these tasks, but I do appreciate their help. I have added stars to customer service, but if you want a refund, please make sure to handle any issues within the first month.

I understand that a paid subscription is required to store videos/photos, not just to send you notifications of someone near your doorstep. This goes against the entire purpose of owning a doorbell. If it weren’t for me buying it at a $100 discount, I would have returned it for that reason. If you think you will receive notifications from people near your doorstep after the trial subscription ends, please do not purchase this product, you will not.

I spent an hour with a representative who clearly didn’t know what I was doing while trying to change the protection of my video plan to a new device. He told us that the video protection plan is active and everything is set up correctly. I received a notification this morning that my plan is no longer the latest and the video will not be saved. It took another 45 minutes to communicate with customer service, and we are waiting to see if this is effective.

    I have multiple Ring cameras, not to mention multiple Kindles, echo devices, etc., which is definitely disappointing< I bought it to replace my first generation Ring doorbell, and it worked very well. My goal is only to improve video resolution and I hope to see other technological advancements over the years< But who would have thought that now, it has suffered a disastrous failure in the most basic thing: Wi Fi connectivity< It will not connect for most of the time, and when it is rarely connected, it will immediately go offline. Then I wrote my original comment. Within a day, Ring's customer service department contacted me via email, hoping to help me resolve the issue. They have a complete department dedicated to helping dissatisfied customers! A good young man named Brett asked me for a phone call, and we talked for a few minutes. Within a few minutes, he was able to send me the free panel. He did confirm that my purchase qualifies for a discount coupon, as it is the latest model and this is their latest promotion. customer service is clearly not on the same page, which is frustrating for customers and ironically because now has a Ring. Brett from Ring quickly and happily resolved this issue without causing me the same difficulties as 's customer service department. I will not solve any Ring related issues through in the future. If you (regardless of who is reading this article) have any questions about Ring equipment/accessories/delivery, please skip the pain and call Ring.

    I made a mistake by installing a cheaper doorbell, and later found out that they wouldn’t say “Hi, you’re being recorded”. Each transformer overheated and died. I purchased 2 16V, 30 VA transformers, which Ring identified as the solution and sold. Finally, the mechanical doorbell with a 16V, 10 VA transformer was reinstalled without any issues. It looks well made, but after trying two of them, it is not compatible with my simple 50 foot wire from the power supply to the doorbell. One non factor is the Wi Fi at the doorbell, which exceeds the specified minimum speed by twice during the busiest hours.

I have installed a new transformer and power pack. We have a mechanical doorbell. My doorbell is fine, everything is normal. I prefer Pro 2 over Pro 3 because it doesn't have any batteries. We have the exact same doorbell in another house, and it works very well, even though its equipment health numbers are not very good. The device we installed two days ago has good device health numbers and seems to be working properly. However, we encountered two Internet outages, and the device will not automatically reconnect to Wi Fi afterwards. We had to remove the lower cover and manually reset everything. Therefore, I tried restarting the router/modem multiple times to continue testing this. The device cannot be reconnected every time. When we plan to leave for a few months, this is of no use to safety. Three calls with technical support and 4 hours of troubleshooting.
